The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the largest institute for the study of particle physics in China. There are over 1,500 full-time staff and over 1,000 postdoctoral and graduate students working at IHEP. Particle physics and multidisciplinary sciences are highly collaborative and international fields, and we have partnerships and experimental collaborations with dozens of universities and research institutions in China and around the world.
IHEP is always looking for more excellent scientists and engineers, at all career stages, to join us in exploring this amazing universe. We have long-term and short-term opportunities available in our world-class research programs, which include the fields of high energy physics, particle astrophysics, computer science, cosmology, synchrotron radiation, and advanced accelerator physics. In particular, IHEP is committed to internationalizing our faculty from diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds. We welcome applicants from all over the world.
The Accelerator Center of IHEP has a fully equipped research and engineering team in accelerator science and technology, and undertakes the design, construction, operation, and research of many large-scale accelerator facilities, such as the operation of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPCII), the design and construction of High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), the design and construction of the BEPCII Upgrade Project (BII-U), the design and the key technologies research of the Circular Electron Positron Collider - Super Proton-Proton Collider (CEPC-SppC). The Accelerator Center also participates in several national and international accelerator projects, such as the design and construction of the Chinese Spallation Neutron Source II (CSNS-II) accelerator, the Southern Light Source, the design and R&D of the Southern Light Source, the construction of the China initiative Accelerator Driven System (CiADS), and the international cooperation of the International Linear Collider (ILC).
In addition to undertaking the design, construction and operation of the conventional accelerator facilities, the Accelerator Center also conducts research on new acceleration principles such as Plasma Wakefield Accelerator Project (PWFA).
The Accelerator Center aims to become an international leader in accelerator-related disciplines and key technologies, to conduct related physics and advanced technology research, and to build and operate the world's leading accelerator facilities. At present, the Accelerator Center has 13 research groups with a total of 235 staff members, 13 postdoctoral fellows, 76 graduate students.

About IHEP
IHEP is one of the institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and is China's top laboratory for particle physics. We aim to better understand the universe at the most fundamental level – from the smallest subatomic particles to the large-scale structure of the cosmos. We also want to use the knowledge and technology gained from our research for the benefit of mankind. In addition to theoretical and experimental research in particle and astroparticle physics, we have a broad range of research in related fields such as accelerator technologies and nuclear analysis techniques. The Institute also provides beam facilities for researchers in other fields.
IHEP's main campus is located on Yuquan Road in the western part of Beijing. The Yuquan campus houses the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider, the BESIII experiment, the Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility, and most of IHEP's research and administrative staff. The High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) is being commissioned at the Huairou campus in northern Beijing. HEPS is a fourth-generation greenfield synchrotron radiation light source with energy of 6 GeV. In terms of future energy frontier colliders, IHEP is leading the CEPC project as a Higgs factory and future SppC studies. An advanced facility based on plasma acceleration is under development.
The Dongguan campus is one of China's leading national research facilities for materials science (China Spallation Neutron Source, CSNS). It produces neutrons with an accelerator-based system that delivers proton pulses to a tungsten target through a process called spallation. These neutrons are then directed to state-of-the-art instruments that provide a variety of capabilities for researchers in a broad range of disciplines, such as physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. In addition, IHEP operates experiments such as JUNO (Guangdong), AliCPT (Tibet), and LHAASO (Sichuan).
